Dale Lynn Taylor, a 60-year-old resident of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, has been sentenced to 30 months in federal prison and will serve 10 years of supervised release for failing to register as a sex offender. The sentencing was announced by the United States Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Oklahoma.
The case followed an investigation conducted by the U.S. Marshals Service Violent Crime Fugitive Task Force. Investigators reported that Taylor had previously been convicted of Rape-Second Degree in Oklahoma on May 28, 2014. As a result of this conviction, he was required to register as a sex offender.
Authorities determined that between April 2, 2019, and July 8, 2024, Taylor did not fulfill his obligation to register or update his registration while entering, leaving, or residing in Indian country within the Eastern District of Oklahoma.
Taylor pleaded guilty to the charge on March 19, 2025. The sentencing hearing was overseen by U.S. District Judge John F. Heil III in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Oklahoma.
“Taylor will remain in the custody of the U.S. Marshals Service pending transportation to a designated United States Bureau of Prisons facility to serve a non-paroleable sentence of incarceration,” according to officials.
Assistant U.S. Attorney Dak T. Cohen prosecuted the case on behalf of the government.
