Cesar Gonzalez Falcon, a Mexican national unlawfully residing in Tahlequah, Oklahoma, was sentenced to time served for one count of illegal alien in possession of a firearm and ammunition, according to an April 9 announcement from the United States Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Oklahoma.

The sentencing highlights ongoing efforts by federal authorities to address crimes involving individuals unlawfully present in the United States. Officials say such cases are part of broader initiatives aimed at protecting communities from violent crime.

Gonzalez Falcon, also known as Cesar Falcon Gonzalez, Cesar Gonzalez-Falcon, and Cesar Falcon Gonzales, pleaded guilty on August 26, 2025. Investigators said that on May 12, 2025, he knowingly possessed a 12-gauge pump action shotgun and four rounds of ammunition while being illegally present in the country. The investigation involved the U.S. Department of Homeland Security’s Immigration and Customs Enforcement Division, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, and the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office.

This case is part of Operation Take Back America. The initiative uses resources from the Department of Justice to address illegal immigration issues and target cartels as well as transnational criminal organizations.

Senior Judge Ronald A. White presided over the hearing at the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Oklahoma. Following sentencing, Gonzalez Falcon was remanded into custody for resolution related to an Immigration and Customs Enforcement detainer.
