Cherokee Strip Regional Heritage Center plans Valentine’s event featuring exhibits and activities

The Cherokee Strip Regional Heritage Center in Enid will host a special Valentine’s event on Friday, February 6, from 7 to 9 p.m. The event, titled “Date Night at the Museum: Hopes & Dreams,” offers guests the opportunity to tour the museum’s galleries while enjoying themed hors d’oeuvres and romantic beverages.

Visitors can explore the Ward & Meibergen Exhibition Hall and visit Humphrey Heritage Village after dark. The evening coincides with the “Art of the Wish” exhibit in the Mabee Foundation Gallery. Couples will have a chance to create dream boards together as part of the self-guided experience.

The Cherokee Strip Regional Heritage Center operates under the Oklahoma Historical Society (OHS). According to its mission statement, “The mission of the Oklahoma Historical Society is to collect, preserve and share the history and culture of the state of Oklahoma and its people.” The OHS was founded in 1893 by members of the Territorial Press Association and maintains museums, historic sites, and affiliates throughout Oklahoma. It provides research archives, exhibits, educational programs, and publications that document Oklahoma’s history.

According to information from its official website, OHS serves as Oklahoma’s official historical agency and supports public access to collections for historical research. The society also operates several historic sites across Oklahoma and manages educational resources for residents statewide.
