Oklahoma Governor Kevin Stitt has signed a proclamation designating the state’s fairs as public centers of celebration for the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence. This initiative aims to honor agriculture, showcase livestock, and celebrate traditions that shape the nation.

The Oklahoma Department of Agriculture, Food and Forestry (ODAFF) will collaborate with America 250 to support this effort. “Oklahoma’s state fairs have long served as an opportunity for families and communities to gather in support and celebration of our rural way of life and production agriculture,” stated Oklahoma Secretary of Agriculture Blayne Arthur. “We are excited to partner with America 250 to honor the birth of our country, and the role state fairs play in bringing American citizens together.”

Starting July 3, 2025, ODAFF and America 250 will host events celebrating United States agriculture at Oklahoma’s state fairs. Citizens are encouraged to participate in activities recognizing this historic milestone.
