Abraham Suy Suar, a 35-year-old Guatemalan national, has pleaded guilty to unlawful reentry after being found in Bryan County, Oklahoma. The United States Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Oklahoma announced that Suy Suar admitted to returning to the United States without permission following his previous removal on September 23, 2014.
According to authorities, Suy Suar was located in the country on November 17, 2025, without having obtained consent from the Secretary of Homeland Security to reapply for admission. The investigation was conducted by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security’s Immigration and Customs Enforcement Division and the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.
“This case is part of Operation Take Back America, a nationwide initiative that marshals the full resources of the Department of Justice to repel the invasion of illegal immigration, achieve the total elimination of cartels and transnational criminal organizations (TCOs), and protect our communities from the perpetrators of violent crime,” according to a statement from officials.
The Honorable Gerald L. Jackson, U.S. Magistrate Judge for the Eastern District of Oklahoma, accepted Suy Suar’s plea and ordered a presentence investigation report. Sentencing will be determined by a U.S. District Court Judge after reviewing federal guidelines and statutory factors.
Suy Suar faces up to two years in prison and a fine up to $250,000. He will remain in custody with the United States Marshals Service until sentencing. Assistant U.S. Attorney Jonathan E. Soverly represented the government in this case.
