Carlos Mendoza-Padilla, a Honduran national, has pleaded guilty to unlawful reentry into the United States. The U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Oklahoma announced that Mendoza-Padilla, also known by several aliases including Marvin Antino and Carlos Ivan Mendoza, was unlawfully present in Carter County, Oklahoma. He faces up to two years in prison and a $250,000 fine.
The charge followed an investigation conducted by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security’s Immigration and Customs Enforcement Division alongside the Carter County Sheriff’s Office. According to the indictment, on May 4, 2025, Mendoza-Padilla was found in the United States after being previously removed twice without obtaining consent from the Secretary of Homeland Security to reapply for admission.
This case is part of Operation Take Back America, a nationwide initiative led by the Department of Justice aimed at combating illegal immigration and transnational criminal organizations while protecting communities from violent crime. The operation involves collaboration between various task forces including Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Forces (OCDETFs) and Project Safe Neighborhood (PSN).
U.S. Magistrate Judge Jason A. Robertson accepted Mendoza-Padilla’s plea and ordered a presentence investigation report. A U.S. District Court Judge will later determine his sentence based on U.S. Sentencing Guidelines and other factors.
Mendoza-Padilla remains in custody with the United States Marshals Service pending sentencing proceedings. Assistant U.S. Attorney Dak T. Cohen represented the prosecution.
