Kilgen Theatre Organ season opens with Avakian siblings at Oklahoma History Center

The Oklahoma History Center Museum will open the 2025–2026 season of its Kilgen Theatre Organ performances on Tuesday, September 21. The event is scheduled from 7 to 8:30 p.m. in the Devon Great Hall at the museum.

This season’s first concert features Nathan and Claire Avakian, a brother-sister duo. Nathan Avakian is known internationally for his organ performances, having played across the United States as well as in Australia, New Zealand, Canada, and Thailand. He has also released several albums that showcase both theatre and classical pipe organs along with virtual orchestrations.

Claire Avakian is based in New York City and has a background in dance and singing. She earned her BFA in Musical Theatre from the University of Oklahoma in 2015. Her stage experience includes performances at venues such as Papermill Playhouse in New Jersey, Lyric Theatre in Oklahoma, Music Theatre of Wichita in Kansas, The Muny in Missouri, Broadway Rose Theatre Company in Oregon, and John Engeman Theater in New York.

Tickets for the performance are available for $10 to members of the Oklahoma Historical Society and $20 to non-members. Tickets can be purchased online or by calling 405-522-0765.

The Oklahoma History Center is located at 800 Nazih Zuhdi Dr., Oklahoma City. It welcomes visitors Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
