Christopher Kyle Buxton, a 35-year-old resident of Lawton, Oklahoma, has been sentenced to 30 years in federal prison for aiding and abetting the production of child pornography and for possession of child pornography. The announcement was made by U.S. Attorney Robert J. Troester.

Court records show that between August 2023 and April 30, 2024, Buxton induced others to produce child pornography and also possessed a significant collection of such material. He distributed child pornography and facilitated the sexual exploitation of children for his own gratification.

“Securing justice for vulnerable child victims, and holding child predators accountable, remains an unwavering priority for my office and the Justice Department,” said U.S. Attorney Robert J. Troester. “This 30-year sentence sends a clear and uncompromising message that such heinous crimes will be met with the full force of the law. I commend the relentless efforts of law enforcement and prosecutors who stand firm in protecting our children from the threat posed by this defendant.”

FBI Oklahoma City Special Agent in Charge Doug Goodwater commented on the sentencing: “A sentence of this magnitude reflects the severity of the crimes committed. I commend the efforts of agents and prosecutors in holding this dangerous predator accountable. He will now spend decades behind bars where he can no longer target children in our communities.”

Buxton was charged on December 26, 2024, with aiding and abetting in the production of child pornography as well as possessing it. He pleaded guilty to these charges on January 7, 2025.

At his sentencing hearing on July 18, 2025, U.S. District Judge Jodi W. Dishman ordered Buxton to serve 360 months in federal prison followed by a lifetime term of supervised release. In addition, Buxton must pay $41,500 in restitution. Judge Dishman described Buxton’s actions as egregious and reprehensible, stating that their depravity was difficult to comprehend and emphasizing that his sentence should serve a strong retributive purpose.

The FBI Oklahoma City Field Office led the investigation into this case, which was prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Elizabeth Joynes.

This prosecution is part of Project Safe Childhood (PSC), an initiative by the Department of Justice aimed at combating child sexual exploitation through collaboration among federal, state, and local agencies to identify offenders and rescue victims nationwide.
