A Kingston, Oklahoma resident has pleaded guilty to kidnapping and theft charges related to incidents that took place in Marshall County within the Chickasaw Nation Reservation.
The United States Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Oklahoma announced that Louis Lee Ray Hamons, 23, entered a guilty plea to two counts of Kidnapping in Indian Country and one count of Theft in Indian Country. Each kidnapping charge carries a potential sentence of up to life in prison and a $250,000 fine. The theft charge is punishable by up to five years in prison and a $250,000 fine.
According to court documents, on March 2, 2025, Hamons unlawfully seized, confined, kidnapped, and abducted two individuals. He also took a vehicle valued at more than $1,000 with the intent to steal it.
The case was investigated by multiple agencies including the Madill Police Department, the Marshall County Sheriff’s Office, the Bureau of Indian Affairs, and the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
U.S. Magistrate Judge Jason A. Robertson accepted Hamons’ plea and ordered a presentence investigation report. Sentencing will be determined by a U.S. District Court Judge after consideration of federal guidelines and other statutory factors.
Hamons is currently in custody awaiting sentencing. Assistant U.S. Attorney Kevin Gross represented the United States in this case.
