Jose Luis Jimenez-Hernandez, a 45-year-old Mexican national, has pleaded guilty to unlawful reentry of a removed alien in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Oklahoma. According to federal prosecutors, Jimenez-Hernandez was found in Tahlequah, Oklahoma, on July 24, 2025, after having been previously removed from the United States on three occasions: January 10, 2012; June 14, 2013; and October 25, 2013. Authorities stated that he did not obtain consent from the Secretary of Homeland Security to reapply for admission.

The charge is punishable by up to two years in prison and a fine of up to $250,000.

The case resulted from an investigation conducted by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security’s Immigration and Customs Enforcement Division.

Prosecutors noted that this prosecution falls under Operation Take Back America. The initiative aims “to repel the invasion of illegal immigration, achieve the total elimination of cartels and transnational criminal organizations (TCOs), and protect our communities from the perpetrators of violent crime.” It coordinates resources from both the Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Forces (OCDETFs) and Project Safe Neighborhood (PSN).

The plea was accepted by U.S. Magistrate Judge D. Edward Snow. A presentence investigation report has been ordered ahead of sentencing. Sentencing will be determined by a U.S. District Court Judge after consideration of federal guidelines and statutory factors.

Jimenez-Hernandez remains in custody with the United States Marshals Service pending sentencing. Assistant U.S. Attorney Dak T. Cohen represented the government in this matter.
