Daniel Ceron-Ceron, a 38-year-old Mexican national, has been sentenced to 37 months in federal prison for illegal firearm possession and reentering the United States after being previously removed. The announcement was made by U.S. Attorney Robert J. Troester.

According to court records, on November 22, 2024, Edmond Police Department officers responded to a domestic incident at a residence. The victim reported that Ceron-Ceron had argued with her, pointed a gun at her head, and put it in her mouth. Following a standoff, police arrested Ceron-Ceron and seized the weapon used in the assault. Records show he had been removed from the United States to Mexico on September 23, 2020.

A federal Grand Jury indicted Ceron-Ceron on March 4, 2025, charging him with being an illegal alien in possession of a firearm and illegal reentry after removal. He pleaded guilty on May 7, 2025, admitting both that he possessed the weapon while unlawfully present in the country and that he knowingly reentered the U.S. illegally.

At his sentencing hearing on December 10, 2025, U.S. District Judge Jodi W. Dishman imposed a sentence of 37 months in federal prison. Judge Dishman stated that she considered “the nature and circumstances of the offense, the need to protect the public, and the need to deter Ceron-Ceron from future crimes” when determining the sentence.

The investigation was conducted by Immigration and Customs Enforcement and the Edmond Police Department. Assistant U.S. Attorney Tiffany Edgmon prosecuted the case.

“This case is part of Operation Take Back America, a nationwide initiative that marshals the full resources of the Department of Justice to repel the invasion of illegal immigration, achieve the total elimination of cartels and transnational criminal organizations (TCOs), and protect our communities from the perpetrators of violent crime,” according to information released by authorities.
