A Mexican national has been sentenced for drug and firearm offenses in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Marcos Javier Suazo-Mancilla, 23, received a sentence of 270 months imprisonment followed by three years of supervised release. The sentencing was announced by U.S. Attorney Clint Johnson.
The case stems from an investigation that began in October 2024 when the Drug Enforcement Administration looked into a drug trafficking organization suspected of distributing methamphetamine and cocaine in the Tulsa area. A search warrant executed at a residence revealed approximately 26 pounds of methamphetamine, 41 grams of cocaine, seven firearms, and over $9,000 in cash. Additional searches at an auto body shop linked to the organization uncovered another 39 pounds of methamphetamine.
Suazo-Mancilla had previously been removed from the United States in August 2018. He will remain in custody until his transfer to the U.S. Bureau of Prisons and is expected to face removal proceedings following his sentence.
The investigation involved multiple agencies including the Drug Enforcement Administration, Tulsa County Sheriff’s Office, and Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives. Assistant U.S. Attorney David Nasar led the prosecution.
This case is part of Operation Take Back America, a Department of Justice initiative aimed at combating illegal immigration and transnational criminal organizations while protecting communities from violent crime.
