The Moore Police Department has announced the arrest of 31-year-old Omar Rangel Alejos following the discovery of over $180,000 in stolen vehicles and evidence of a large-scale chop shop operation at a residence in Moore, Oklahoma. This announcement was made in a public statement.
According to KOKH News, on August 19, 2025, Moore Police tracked a stolen truck from Dallas to a residence near Northwest 33rd and Webster in Moore. Upon entering the property, officers found multiple stolen vehicles, including $180,000 worth of trucks and a 2025 Cadillac Escalade valued at $115,000 that had not yet been reported stolen. Investigators also discovered dismantling tools, stripped vehicle parts, firearms, license plates, and key fobs. These findings suggested an organized chop shop operation.
Moore Police confirmed that Alejos was booked on several felony counts. These include possession of a firearm by a delinquent, aiding or abetting a chop shop violation, and four counts of concealing stolen vehicles. The police noted that the evidence indicated involvement in a professional vehicle theft and resale network. As reported by KFOR, the recovery of high-value vehicles alongside dismantling equipment points to a larger-scale criminal enterprise rather than isolated theft incidents.
Detectives emphasized that stolen vehicles and fraudulent license tags are often linked to broader criminal activities. According to News9, Oklahoma investigators are working to determine if the stolen vehicles found in Moore are connected to multi-jurisdictional theft rings extending into Texas. Officials said that such operations typically involve cross-state collaboration, making coordination between Oklahoma and Texas law enforcement agencies crucial for disrupting organized vehicle theft networks.
The Moore Police Department provides patrols, investigations, and specialized law enforcement services within the community. The department actively participates in regional task forces addressing vehicle thefts, narcotics issues, and organized crime while maintaining strong community engagement efforts. According to the City of Moore’s official website, their mission is to provide professional police services ensuring safety, transparency, and trust between officers and residents.
