The Oklahoma Department of Agriculture, Food and Forestry (ODAFF) has announced that applications are now open for the Oklahoma Local Food for Schools Program. The state legislature has provided over $3 million to fund this initiative, which aims to connect local producers with schools across Oklahoma.

Schools interested in participating can apply for funding through ODAFF’s online application portal. The program will accept applications on a first-come, first-served basis until all funds are allocated.

Producers who want to supply food to schools must also register with ODAFF. Only purchases from vendors approved by ODAFF as part of the Local Food Procurement Assistance Program will be eligible for reimbursement by schools. Vendors can sign up through the designated process outlined by ODAFF.

For additional details about the program, individuals can contact Brady Womack at Brady.Womack@ag.ok.gov.
