Oklahoma State defeated 16th-ranked Arizona State on May 10, securing a series-clinching 13-6 victory at Phoenix Municipal Stadium. The Cowboys, ranked No. 25, hit seven home runs in the game, including four in the fourth inning.

The win marked Oklahoma State’s eighth consecutive Big 12 victory and its third straight conference series win. Both teams now have records of 33-17 overall and 16-10 in league play.

Colin Brueggemann and Alex Conover each homered twice for the Cowboys, while Brock Thompson, Aidan Meola, and Danny Wallace also contributed home runs. Brueggemann reached his 200th career hit during the game and moved into Oklahoma State’s top ten with his 49th career home run. Thompson extended his streak of reaching base safely to 43 games.

Starting pitcher Stormy Rhodes earned the win for Oklahoma State by pitching five innings and allowing three runs on ten hits. He recorded three double-play groundouts and two strikeouts to improve his season record to 3-2.

Arizona State took an early lead with a second-inning solo homer by Dominic Smaldino but was overtaken after a six-run fourth inning by Oklahoma State that featured multiple home runs. The Sun Devils scored again in later innings but could not close the gap as Brueggemann and Conover added solo shots in the ninth inning to secure the win for Oklahoma State.

The final game of the series is scheduled for Sunday at 3 p.m.
