Chris Vance, owner of Vance Truck Accessories in Oklahoma City and a member of the National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB), discussed the impact of the permanent Small Business Deduction in an op-ed for The Oklahoman. He explained that making this deduction permanent allows small business owners to plan for long-term investments in their workers and communities.

“I’ve been a small business owner for nearly 10 years,” Vance wrote. “It’s been the hardest but most rewarding experience in my life. Now President Donald Trump and Republicans in Congress have delivered a huge victory that will help me grow my business over the next 10 years. They saved me and small businesses in Oklahoma and America from a massive tax hike, so that I can keep investing in my workers and community.”

Vance added, “Now that the Small Business Deduction is permanent, I can dream even bigger. I’m going to keep giving back and investing in my team, my community and my country’s future.”

He detailed how previous uncertainty about the deduction affected his ability to make business decisions, including paying higher wages to employees and providing annual bonuses. With the passage of what he called the “One Big Beautiful Bill Act,” which made the 20% income deduction permanent, Vance said he could now invest more confidently in his company and contribute to local development.

Vance also cited studies indicating that small businesses are expected to create more than 1.2 million new jobs each year as a result of having stable tax policy.
