5% of citizens in Oklahoma unemployed in 2021

Oklahoma's unemployment rate hit 5% among residents aged 16 and 65 years old in 2021. That's 94,856 people out of the 3,948,136 living in Oklahoma at the time, according to data U.S. Census Bureau data obtained on Oct. 26, 2023.

The unemployment rate in Oklahoma has remained fairly stable compared to the 5% registered in 2020.

The percentage of people unemployed in Oklahoma was less than the national unemployment rate of 5.5%.

Of the 1,807,741 people who had a job during that time, 20,999 were employed in the Armed Forces and 1,786,742 belonged to the civilian labor force.
