The National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB) has published its biennial voting record for Oklahoma's 2023-2024 legislative session. This report highlights eight key votes on issues such as licensing reform and franchise tax cuts.
In this session, 109 lawmakers achieved a perfect score on the voting record. This group includes 37 members from the Senate and 72 from the House of Representatives.
Jerrod Shouse, NFIB State Director, emphasized the importance of understanding small business challenges amid inflation. "As inflation continues to pose a serious challenge to small business owners and consumers alike, it’s critically important that state lawmakers take the time to understand these issues," he stated. He added, "Our members are grateful to the lawmakers who worked to reform our unemployment system, protect against organized retail crime, and promote greater opportunity for hard-working Oklahomans."
It is noted that the NFIB Voting Record does not capture every factor considered by legislators when voting nor does it provide a complete profile of each lawmaker. The 2024 Voting Record focuses on eight key votes relevant to small business interests.
