Muskogee, Oklahoma – Cody Lee Pritchett, a 34-year-old resident of Tahlequah, Oklahoma, has pleaded guilty to a charge of illegally possessing firearms and ammunition. This announcement was made by the United States Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Oklahoma.
Pritchett admitted to being in possession of a .22 caliber Derringer, a semi-automatic rifle, a short-barreled rifle, and various types of ammunition on February 4, 2025. He had previously been convicted of a crime punishable by more than one year in prison. The charges against him carry a potential sentence of up to 15 years in prison and a fine of $250,000.
The investigation into Pritchett’s activities was conducted by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives. His guilty plea was accepted by U.S. Magistrate Judge Gerald L. Jackson in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Oklahoma. A presentence investigation report has been ordered.
A U.S. District Court Judge will determine Pritchett’s final sentence after reviewing the U.S. Sentencing Guidelines along with other statutory factors. In the meantime, he has been released on bond with conditions until sentencing.
The case is being prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Lewis M. Reagan.
