Tyson Gene Goins, a 21-year-old resident of Wagoner, Oklahoma, has pleaded guilty to two federal firearms offenses. According to the United States Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Oklahoma, Goins admitted to one count of Possession of a Stolen Firearm and one count of Illegal Receipt of a Firearm by a Person Under Indictment or Information.
The indictment stated that on April 19, 2025, Goins knowingly possessed two semi-automatic pistols while being aware that they were stolen. It also alleged that on April 6, 2025, he received the same firearms while under indictment for another crime punishable by more than one year in prison.
These charges followed an investigation conducted by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives along with the Checotah Police Department.
The plea was accepted by U.S. Magistrate Judge D. Edward Snow in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Oklahoma. Judge Snow ordered a presentence investigation report to be completed.
A U.S. District Court Judge will determine Goins’ sentence after reviewing the U.S. Sentencing Guidelines and other legal factors. Goins is currently held in custody by the United States Marshals Service until sentencing.
