Cameron volleyball dropped the matchup against Texas A&M International 15-25, 23-25, and 20-25 inside the Aggie Gym on Friday evening.
Arianna Navarrete led CU with 15 kills, Caitlyn Henderson recorded eight, Jessica Lipkit added three, Natalia Araujo, Trinity Maldonado, and Anjolie Navarrete had two.
Anjolie Navarrete dished out 26 assists, Araujo had two, and Meagan Jimenez and Maldonado added one.
Araujo scored four aces, while Jimenez and Anjolie Navarrete had one.
Jimenez had a team-high 15 digs, Araujo scooped 11, Arianna Navarrete collected seven, Anjolie Navarrete added five, Henderson recorded four, and Lipkit added one.
Lipkit led the Aggies with three blocks, and Henderson and Anjolie Navarrete added one.
International opened the night with a 0-3 lead. Cameron responded with four straight points to take a 4-3 lead. The two teams would trade scores until tied at 10-10. The Dustdevils would go on a 2-12 run to take a commanding 12-22 lead, taking the first set 15-25.
The Black-and-Gold started with a 5-2 lead in set two. TAMUI would climb back to knot the score at 10-10. Neither team took control as the teams traded scores until 20-20, and International would use a 3-7 rally to close out the set taking it 23-25.
CU started set three ahead 4-2. The Dustdevils would respond with a 6-1 run to take an 8-5 advantage and used a 0-4 rally to extend their lead to 7-12. The Aggies would cut the deficit to three at 10-13. International would score four straight points to stretch the lead to 10-17. Cameron would mount a slight comeback with an 8-3 run to cut the score to 20-23, but a quick two points would seal the match by TAMUI.
The Black-and-Gold will host Texas A&M-Kingsville at 2:00 pm on Saturday for the season finale. After the match, Cameron will honor the three seniors, Araujo, Lipkit, and Arianna Navarrete.
