The Oklahoma History Center Museum is set to unveil a new exhibit, "Oklahoma Sports Heroes," on December 21. This exhibit will showcase legendary athletes from Oklahoma who have made significant contributions across various sports. It aims to connect these athletes with the historical periods in which they lived and competed.
Among the highlighted figures are well-known names like Jim Thorpe and Mickey Mantle. The exhibit also brings attention to lesser-known athletes such as Kaleo Kanahele Maclay and Noah Zuhdi, offering visitors a chance to discover new favorites alongside familiar ones.
In addition to celebrating these sports heroes, the exhibit will display items recently acquired by the Oklahoma Historical Society. These additions were made possible through a donation from Richard Hendricks and the Oklahoma Sports Heritage Museum located in Guthrie.
The museum expressed gratitude towards the Oklahoma sports history community for their support in bringing this exhibit to fruition.
"Oklahoma Sports Heroes" promises an engaging exploration of the state's rich athletic legacy, inviting visitors to delve into stories of triumph and perseverance.
