Saturday afternoon, the University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma (7-8, 3-7 SAC) earned their second win in as many days, with an impressive 3-0 victory against Langston University (8-11, 1-9 SAC).
The Drovers got off to a good start and collected a 25-18 win in the first set. Langston gave the USAO all they could handle in the second set, but the Drovers were able to hang on for a 25-23 victory, to take a commanding 2-0 lead in the match.
Science & Arts was red-hot to begin the third set and went on to win 25-17, wrapping up the contest.
Kat Smith (SR/Midwest City, OK) and Lariah Allen (SR/Oklahoma City, OK) once again led the way for the Drovers. Smith led all players with 16 kills on an incredible .464 attack percentage. Allen collected her eighth double-double of the season, tallying 10 kills and 15 digs, along with a pair of aces.
Laura Barrios Bardi (FR/El Paso, TX) cointributed five terminations on a .333 attack percentage, in addition to a pair of block assists.
Samantha Perez (SO/Oklahoma City, OK) and Alyssa Kooijman (FR/Netherlands) each concluded with four kills. Perez added a match-high of 26 assists and seven digs. Kooijman recorded seven digs on defense.
Madison Garcia (JR/Waipahu, HI) distributed 12 assists and had seven digs. Soleil Trejo (JR/Dallas, TX) also added seven digs, in addition to a pair of aces.
Marquis King (SR/Glenpool, OK) concluded with nine digs, along with a trio of assists.
