The Oklahoma Transportation Commission will conduct its monthly meeting on Monday, April 7, at 11 a.m. The meeting will take place in the R.A. Ward Transportation Building located at 200 N.E. 21st St., Oklahoma City. The public and media are welcome to attend in person or view the livestream online.

Tim Gatz, the Executive Director of the Oklahoma Department of Transportation, will present Governor Stitt’s proclamation, which designates April 21-25 as Oklahoma’s “Work Zone Awareness Week.” Additionally, Gatz will outline various partnership events to be held across the state as part of this initiative.

Moreover, Gatz will offer updates on the condition of Oklahoma bridges in light of the National Transportation Safety Board's recommendations after the incident involving the Francis Scott Key Bridge in Maryland last year.

Commissioners will hear updates on the next stage of enhancements for the I-44/US-75 interchange in Tulsa, aimed at addressing local traffic issues colloquially known as “Traffic Henge.” The meeting will also cover the development status regarding the I-40 Douglas interchange in Midwest City.

The complete agenda for the meeting can be accessed online. The commission meeting will be available via livestream, and a recorded, captioned version will also be accessible to the public afterward.

The Oklahoma Transportation Commission, composed of nine members appointed by the governor and legislative leaders, is responsible for the oversight of transportation development in the state. It regularly awards contracts for road and bridge construction projects on a monthly basis.
