On March 20, the Oklahoma Historical Society will hold its annual Awards Banquet at the Oklahoma History Center in Oklahoma City. This event annually gathers historians, educators, and civic leaders to honor individuals who have significantly contributed to understanding Oklahoma's history.

Three individuals will be inducted into the Oklahoma Historians Hall of Fame for their notable contributions. Dr. Sarah Eppler Janda, Carolyn Hanneman, and Rachel Caroline Eaton (posthumously) are set to receive this lifetime achievement award for their dedication to preserving and sharing the state's history.

The banquet will also recognize educators, students, writers, and community members who have made efforts to advance historical understanding and preserve Oklahoma's past. Additionally, new properties added to the National Register of Historic Places in Oklahoma will be acknowledged along with those who supported their applications.

Dr. AJ Griffin is scheduled as the keynote speaker. Dr. Griffin previously served six years in the Oklahoma State Senate and is currently CEO of the Potts Family Foundation. Joe Dorman, a politician and CEO of the Oklahoma Institute for Child Advocacy, will emcee the event.

Guests are requested to wear cocktail attire and RSVP by March 10. More information about awards or ticket purchases can be found at www.okhistory.org/awardsbanquet. For sponsorship inquiries, contact Development Officer Brittney Berling at brittney.berling@history.ok.gov.
