The Oklahoma Transportation Commission is set to hold its monthly meeting on Monday, March 3, at 11 a.m. The meeting will take place in the R.A. Ward Transportation Building located at 200 N.E. 21st St., Oklahoma City. Both the public and media are invited to attend or view the proceedings via a livestream.
During the meeting, several key topics will be discussed. Tim Gatz, Executive Director of the Oklahoma Department of Transportation (ODOT), will address ODOT's response to recent winter weather events. Additionally, there will be mention of the upcoming 2025-2026 state map that highlights Route 66 as part of celebrating its centennial in 2026.
Commissioners will also receive an update on federal funding status. Furthermore, Gatz is expected to announce the new District 4 Engineer who will manage highway maintenance and construction operations across nine counties in north-central Oklahoma, including the Oklahoma City metro area.
The commission operates as a nine-member panel appointed by the governor and legislative leaders with responsibilities for overseeing transportation development in the state. It regularly awards contracts for road and bridge construction projects.
