The State Historic Preservation Office will conduct a webinar on Tuesday, March 25, at noon. The session will focus on the history of the Federal Helium Program and its pipeline that extends from Texas through Oklahoma to Kansas. Experts from the U.S. General Services Administration and Stantec are scheduled to speak.

Constructed in 1962, the Federal Helium Pipeline spans 425 miles. It originally transported helium from the Texas panhandle, through Oklahoma, reaching central Kansas. Remarkably, this infrastructure remains operational today.

Interested individuals can register online for the webinar. For additional details, Deputy State Historic Preservation Officer Lynda Ozan is available at 405-522-4484 or via email at lynda.ozan@history.ok.gov.
