After an impressive showing at the Nuttycombe Wisconsin Invitational on Friday afternoon, Micheal Power was named The American's Men's Runner of the Week.
At a packed event which included 17 of the top teams in the nation, Powers paced the Golden Hurricane to a sixth-place finish, navigating the 8k championship course in 23:25.2 to take 11th overall out of 245 runners.
Power is the second consecutive Hurricane to win the award as teammate Cormac Dalton was the previous runner of the week for the conference. Next up for the Hurricane men and women is the AAC Championships, where Tulsa will play host. The Hurricane men will look to make it 13 consecutive conference titles, nine as part of The American, while the women will attempt to make it four in a row, and six in nine seasons.
