Tulsa linebacker Justin Wright was named the American Athletic Conference's Defensive Player of the Week, the league announced today.
Wright, a 6'2" senior from Abilene, Texas, had a standout performance last Thursday in a loss at Memphis.
He tied his season-high with 13 tackles, including nine solos, along with a season-best 2.5 TFL for -17 yards and one sack for -13 yards. Wright also forced one fumble, had one pass breakup and was credited with one QB hurry.
