Oklahoma Christian University Lady Eagles continue strong play with a back-and-forth tilt against Texas Tyler

The Lady Eagles continued their strong play with a back-and-forth tilt against the team tied for first in the Lone Star Conference (LSC), UT Tyler. 

The Patriots started strong in the first quarter and took a 14-7 lead into the second quarter. They extended the lead to thirteen before the Eagles started to take over, or more specifically, Jordan Francisco took over. Francisco scored eight of her ten points on the night as part of a 9-1 Oklahoma Christian run to close out the first half.
 
The Lady Eagles carried that momentum into the third quarter as they opened the quarter on a 6-0 run to take a 34-33 lead. The two teams traded leads before Nakia Cullom hit a layup to extend OC's lead to four at 44-40 heading into the fourth quarter.
 
To start the fourth quarter, the teams went back and forth, trading baskets before a 7-0 run gave Tyler a lead with three minutes to go. Cullom scored two more of her team-high 13 points to cut the Patriots' lead to 53-51 before UTT sealed the game at the free-throw line.
 
The Lady Eagles will reign in the new year in the Nest on Sunday afternoon with a matchup against the other team tied for first in the LSC, No. 20/10 Texas Woman's University. Oklahoma Christian tip off the New Year's Day tilt at 1 p.m.
