Nicole Harvey has been appointed as the new director of the Oklahoma History Center Museum. Harvey, who has been with the Oklahoma Historical Society (OHS) for over a decade, previously served as interim director since October.

Trait Thompson, executive director of OHS, praised her performance during this period. "Nicole took over as interim director of the museum in October. Since then, she has performed exceedingly well in the role. She has built strong relationships with the museum staff, opened a new sports exhibit, worked to plan new future exhibits and strengthened the relationship between the museum and the other departments within the OHS as well as our outside stakeholders," he said. Thompson added that Harvey is "a strategic thinker who has been dedicated to the OHS for the past 13 years."

Harvey's previous roles at OHS include grants administrator and director of strategic initiatives. In these positions, she managed projects like the Oklahoma Heritage Preservation Grant Program, which supported more than 200 local historical projects with $2 million in awards.

Earlier in her career at OHS, Harvey was an executive assistant to Dr. Bob Blackburn, former executive director of OHS. During this time, she co-curated major exhibits and contributed to public programming such as "A Night in the Life" Gala.

A lifelong resident of Oklahoma City, Harvey holds a bachelor's degree from Oklahoma City University and a master's degree from the University of York in the UK.
