The Oklahoma History Center Museum, in collaboration with VillagesOKC, Humana's local offices, Oklahoma Warriors Honor Flight, and Navigating Medicare, will host a pinning ceremony to honor Vietnam War-era veterans and their families. The event is scheduled for Saturday, March 29, from 10 a.m. to noon at the Devon Great Hall of the Oklahoma History Center. Doors will open at 9 a.m., and the event is free and open to the public.
This ceremony aligns with Vietnam Veterans Day on March 29, established by the 2008 National Defense Authorization Act. This day is set aside for annual nationwide events recognizing Vietnam War veterans and their families. In line with this act's guidelines, recognition pins are provided by the Vietnam War Commemoration organization for any U.S. veteran who served on active duty or in reserves between November 1, 1955, and May 15, 1975. Family members can receive pins on behalf of veterans unable to attend.
The Oklahoma History Center is situated at 800 Nazih Zuhdi Dr., Oklahoma City. It welcomes visitors Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
