Fort Towson Historic Site to hold elderberry tonic workshop led by local expert

The Fort Towson Historic Site is set to host an Elderberry Tonic Workshop on April 8, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. The workshop will be conducted by Kara Richardson, a native of southeast Oklahoma, who advocates for education on natural resources and the use of wild herbs and medicinal plants. Participants will pay $10 for this hands-on session and receive a half pint of tonic to take home. Registration is limited and available on a first come, first served basis.

The Fort Towson Historic Site operates under the Oklahoma Historical Society (OHS). The OHS aims to collect, preserve, and share Oklahoma's history and culture. Established in 1893 by the Territorial Press Association members, it manages various museums, historic sites, and affiliates statewide.
