The National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB), a prominent advocacy body for small businesses across the United States, has unveiled a paid advertising campaign aimed at expressing gratitude to Representative Kevin Hern of Oklahoma. The campaign includes a radio advertisement acknowledging Rep. Hern's role in the ongoing legislative efforts to ensure the permanency of the 20% Small Business Deduction through the passage of the Main Street Tax Certainty Act.

Jeff Brabant, NFIB's Vice President of Federal Government Relations, emphasized the urgency of this legislative measure. He stated, "Small business owners want to see Congress take action and make the 20% Small Business Deduction permanent, and Rep. Kevin Hern has been a strong leader on this issue." Brabant added that the expiration of this deduction in 2025 could lead to significant tax increases for businesses on Main Street. He urged Congress to prioritize the passage of the Main Street Tax Certainty Act, praising Rep. Hern for his leadership in supporting Oklahoma’s small businesses.

The 20% Small Business Deduction, outlined in Section 199A, permits small businesses classified as pass-through entities such as S corporations, LLCs, sole proprietorships, and partnerships to deduct a substantial portion of their qualified business income. NFIB President Brad Close discussed the deduction's significance in a Wall Street Journal op-ed, highlighting its critical role in supporting businesses across the nation.
