Ahead of Governor Kevin Stitt's State of the State address to the 60th Oklahoma Legislature, NFIB State Director Jerrod Shouse has called on lawmakers to prioritize small business interests and foster economic growth.

"Oklahoma is a small business state. Despite serious economic challenges, small business owners continue to compete, innovate, and create good-paying jobs for more than half of working Oklahomans," Shouse stated. He acknowledged that while there is increased optimism about the economy following recent elections, inflation remains a significant issue affecting prices. Additionally, there is a shortage of qualified applicants.

Shouse emphasized that cutting taxes and reducing regulations would benefit family-owned businesses by enabling them to create jobs and expand their operations. "NFIB will continue to work with lawmakers to make it easier to do business here in Oklahoma," he added.
