An Oklahoma Centennial Farm award has been granted to the owners of a farm in Caddo County, as announced by Deputy State Historic Preservation Officer Lynda Ozan. The recipients, Matt Oglesby and Todd Oglesby, own the Oglesby Farm near Eakly. This family-operated farm has been cultivating wheat and raising cattle since 1901 when Thomas Jefferson Oglesby, their great-grandfather, settled on the land.

To be eligible for a Centennial Farm or Ranch Award, properties must have been occupied by a family member for at least 100 years. Additionally, they must currently be operated or occupied by a family member or leased out by one. The property should encompass at least 40 acres and generate gross annual sales of $1,000 or more.

The Oklahoma Historical Society and the Oklahoma Department of Agriculture, Food and Forestry have sponsored these awards for 35 years. During this period, 35 awards have been distributed within Caddo County.
