The Pawnee Bill Ranch and Museum in Pawnee, Oklahoma, is set to host its second annual Seed Swap event, "Something to Grow About," on Saturday, April 19, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. The event coincides with the Earth Day celebrations, which officially take place on April 22. The Seed Swap will feature a native plant and seed exchange, along with a variety of interactive gardening workshops.

Participants are encouraged to bring labeled seeds and plants to participate in the exchange. They will have the opportunity to learn about native pollinator plants, as well as take some home. The event will also offer workshops and demonstrations focused on planting, composting, recycling, and topics related to soil, water, insects, and birds. Additionally, there will be engaging activities designed for children.

The picnic area will host the Pawnee Farmers Market and local food trucks. Attendees are welcome to bring their own picnic lunches and utilize the ranch's facilities.

Guests visiting the Pawnee Bill Ranch and Museum for the event are also encouraged to explore the 500-acre property. The grounds feature a 14-room mansion built by Pawnee Bill and his wife May, the original ranch blacksmith shop, a 1903 log cabin, a large barn constructed in 1926, picnic tables, and a children's fishing pond. Visitors can also take a drive through the pasture, home to numerous bison and longhorns.

Organizers note that "Something to Grow About" is free and open to the public, although there is a charge to tour the mansion. The event will follow the annual Easter egg hunt, which begins at 10 a.m. on the same day. Thousands of eggs will be hidden across the site for the egg hunt, a tradition started by Pawnee Bill over a century ago.

The event is sponsored by the Friends of the Pawnee Bill Ranch Association, Gardens on Blue Hawk Peak, Oklahoma Historical Society, Pawnee Nation College and Ag Department, the city of Pawnee, and the Grand River Dam Authority.
